Highlights of ISCCBRAZIL2016

Sponsored by SBCC-Brazilian Society of Contamination Control, took place in São Paulo between 20 and 23 September 2016 in Rebouças Convention Center, the 23rd edition of the global event ISCC (International Symposium on Contamination Control), the ISCCBrazil2016. The ISCC is a global event of ICCCS (International Confederation of Contamination Control Societies), entity which the SBCC is affiliated.

The ISCCBrazil2016 represented a milestone since it was for the first time made outside the United States, Europe and Asia axis.  The symposium was preceded by international meetings of ISO TC-209  Working Groups  of 14644 standards, where the SBCC actively participates in leading Brazil’s position in such reviews.

Even before the event, on 18th to 21st of September, occurred the international certification of professionals in CTCB ICCCS-I Testing.

The ISCCBrazil2016 opening ceremony was attend by Dr. Marcos Boulos, Coordinator of Disease Control Department of the Health Secretary of São Paulo.

There were about 50 national and international lectures in 3 auditoriums, regarding several aspects of cleanrooms tests and contamination control.

Among the main speakers ISCCBrazil 2016, were present:

Anne Marie Dixon: owner and President of Cleanroom Management Associates, Inc., a consulting company based in Carson City, Nevada (USA) specializing in competitive benchmarking, training and auditing of Clean and Aseptic Processes. The expert spoke about current and future trends in contamination control.

Gordon Farquharson: principal consultant of Critical Systems Ltd and Pharmout PTY. He is a member of International Associations and organizer of the GT1 TC209 ISO, coordinating the new revisions of ISO 14644-1 and 2:2015. Currently working on review of GMP to sterile products. Farquharson shared with the assistance his more than 30 years of experience working in the industry and spoke about the revision of ISO 14644-1 and 2, highlighting the main changes compared to the previous version.

Markus Keller: project manager of the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation, based in Stuttgart, Germany. The topic of his lecture  was “Thinking Outside The Box-Air Cleaning Product Contamination: Methodologies, Classification And Measurement”.

The participants could also count with the course “Clean Room Behavior”, that happened throughout the last day of the event and was given by Phillip van Beek, Dutch professional with 30 years of experience in cleanroom and contamination control.

On Saturday happened the technical visit to the Instituto Butantan where visitors were able to visit the factory, museums and external areas of the Butantan Institute.

In the exhibitors area, products and services were presented for the Contamination Control in Cleanrooms and Controlled Environments.
